The Ubiquitous Computing Revolution

This is an interesting read considering my recent iPad posting: The Ubiquitous Computing Revolution is Here | Personal Computing Revolution, Mobile Devices & Tablet Computers | Tech News Daily.

In my opinion, the author is mostly correct as far as he goes. Ubiquitous computing will see a significant rise and we'll move to a more SaaS type model, but this will be a very short "era". I foresee us moving quite rapidly into a new era where all-in-one, super-computing capabilities will be available to every device in any form factor. This means we'll be able to interact with any ubiquitous device in any manner, not just for a specific service. It means our kitchen appliances will be able to provide any interface we want. Guess we'll see...
